Rules & Regulations

To maintain discipline, professionalism, and a healthy academic environment, all students must follow the rules of the College and Hostel.

1. General Rules

  1. Stay in the hostel is compulsory.
  2. All fees must be paid in advance. Fees and other charges once paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  3. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited as per Indian Nursing Council and Delhi Nursing Council guidelines.

2. Academic Rules

a) Students must be punctual and regular for lectures, demonstrations, and clinical postings. Minimum 75% attendance in theory is required to appear in examinations.
b) Missed clinical or community postings must be completed during holidays/vacation.
c) Students must obtain at least 50% marks in internal tests.
d) Institute discipline must be strictly followed. Misbehavior, refusal of duty, poor performance, strikes, or misconduct may lead to expulsion without claim.

3. Responsibility & Conduct

  1. Students must pay for any damage to institutional property or library books.
  2. Students should not keep valuables such as jewellery or cash; the Institute is not responsible for any loss.
  3. All students must become members of the Student Nurses Association (SNA) and participate in extracurricular activities. Annual SNA fee must be paid at the start of the session.
  4. The Institute is not responsible for students while travelling to hospital, community postings, or home.
  5. Students cannot leave hostel or hospital premises without permission.
  6. Visitors are not allowed during class hours without permission.
  7. Students must not accept gifts or money from patients or relatives.
  8. Improper behavior with hospital staff or in field areas will be viewed seriously and may lead to termination of training.
  9. Students cannot appear for other examinations or competitions during training without permission.
  10. The Principal/Director reserves the right to change timetable or yearly planner.
  11. In all matters, the decision of the Principal will be final.
  12. Students must wear complete, clean, and neat uniform with ID card at all times.
  13. Hostel rules must be strictly followed.

To maintain discipline, dignity, and a healthy academic environment, all students of Saviour College of Nursing are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the college and hostel.

1. Authority for Discipline

  1. All powers related to discipline and disciplinary action are vested in the Principal of Saviour College of Nursing.
  2. The Principal may delegate such powers to the Vice-Principal, Nursing Superintendent, Wardens, or other authorized staff members.

2. Acts of Indiscipline

The following actions will be considered serious misconduct:

a) Physical assault, threat, or abusive behavior towards teachers, staff, patients, or fellow students.
b) Carrying or using any weapon within the college, hospital, or hostel premises.
c) Any act insulting the dignity of students belonging to SC/ST/OBC or any community.
d) Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disrespect towards women.
e) Bribery, cheating, forgery, or any corrupt practice.
f) Damage or destruction of college, hospital, or hostel property.
g) Creating religious, caste, or communal hatred.
h) Disturbing classes, clinical duties, examinations, or college activities.
i) Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited as per Indian Nursing Council and Delhi Nursing Council guidelines. Students involved in ragging will face strict punishment including suspension, rustication, fine, or cancellation of admission.

3. General Student Responsibilities

  • Maintain discipline in classrooms, clinical areas, library, and hostel.
  • Wear proper uniform and identity card.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per college and university rules.
  • Respect patients, staff, and institutional property.
  • Follow ethical nursing standards and professional behaviour.

4. Disciplinary Action

Depending on the seriousness of misconduct, the college may take action such as warning, fine, suspension, withholding results, or expulsion from the institution.

Saviour College of Nursing expects every student to uphold honesty, respect, compassion, and professional ethics to become responsible and caring nurses.

Leave Rules

  • Annual Vacation Leave: 30 days per year.
  • Sick Leave: 10 days per year. (Sick leave will not be carried forward or accumulated.)
  • Preparatory Leave: 7 days per year before examinations.

Note: Students who miss classes or clinical postings must complete the make-up duties by adjusting days from their annual vacation leave.

HOSTEL

RULES & REGULATIONS FOR HOSTEL INMATES:

1. It is compulsory to stay in Hostel during training period.

2. Mobiles are strictly prohibited.

3. Students are advised not to keep large sum of money, any costly items /jewellery in their rooms. Authorities are not responsible in case of any loss or damage.

4. Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited. No heater / room heaters are allowed in the rooms. Also no one is allowed to use press (Iron) or rod in their room. If found then heavy fine will be imposed. All the students must join the mess.

5. No visitors are allowed in the rooms.

6. Visiting Hours: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Sunday only)

7. Students are responsible to keep their rooms absolutely clean and tidy.

8. All the students must join the mess.

9. The mess timing for different meals:

Breakfast 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM

Lunch 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Tea 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM

Dinner 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

10. Come to the mess in a proper dress. Nobody is allowed to come in Mess with open hair. You should make your hair properly so that you avoid falling of hair in foodstuffs.

11. The mess crockery should not be taken to the rooms and don't waste food.

12. The lights and fans must be switched off when leave the hostel rooms or the common rooms.

13. The light should be off after 10:30 PM. No noise should be there in the room after 10:30 PM.

14. Water taps must be turned off after use. Wastage and carelessness will render the students to disciplinary action.

15. ⁠Students are responsible for the furniture, linen and any other hostel property issued to them and will have to pay for any loss or breakage.

16. Allotment of rooms is made by the warden but change can be made on request. Students are not allowed to change their rooms and furniture without the permission of Principal/Warden.

17. Home Sister/ Warden must be informed in case of illness, any untoward incident, fight, theft etc. She will take necessary action and provide all the necessary assistance.

18. Student will take night pass, signed by the Principal, when going home and will hand over the same to Warden/Principal after getting it signed by the parents on return.

19. Before going out of hostel, students must write on the "Outgoing Register" their time of departure and the place of Visit. After reaching back to hostel signature must be put on the time of arrival.

20. All the students must be in the Hostel by 6:00 PM sharp. Disciplinary action will be taken against late corners. Failure to return back to hostel in time will be dealt seriously and strictly. Parents are requested to cooperate.

21. Parents can contact their children on specified days.

22. Students can contact their parents through school phone by paying the charges.

23. Wearing skin tight and short dresses are strictly prohibited.

24. Any expense towards the medical treatment of student will be borne by the student herself.

25. Training can be discontinued in case of misconduct.
